LMC Veteran Relief Fund
The LMC Veteran Relief Fund consists of proceeds generated by the Annual Last Man Club Golf Classic and is designed to provide emergency assistance to local veterans in crisis as well as assist with unmet needs where no Federal, State or Local program exists or funds have been exhausted. The Veteran Relief Fund was created and is managed by the Last Man Club of Vietnam War Era of St. Peter Area.
At this time, only County Veterans Service Offices from Nicollet, Le Sueur, Blue Earth, Brown, Sibley and Waseca may request funds from the LMC Veteran Relief Fund. If you are a Veteran Service or Support Organization, we encourage you to work directly with your County Veterans Service Office. Additionally, The Last Man Club does not distribute funds directly to individuals.

Eligibility Requirements
- Must have served in the U.S. Armed Forces
- Currently Serving or Honorably Discharged
- Must reside in one of the eligible Counties
- Other funding sources should be utilized and/or exhausted before applying to the LMC Veteran Relief Fund
Who Can Apply
- All applications for funding must come through a County Veterans Service Office.
- Eligible Counties include: Nicollet, Le Sueur, Blue Earth, Brown, Sibley and Waseca
- At this time, requests will not be accepted from Veterans Service Organizations/Clubs (ie, American Legion, VFW, BTYR, MACV, DAV). We request these organizations work through a CVSO.
The Application Process
- Applications can be downloaded from lmcclassic.com in pdf format.
- Applications will be accepted electronically or printed and hand written.
- ALL information is required to be completed in order for the application to be reviewed.
- All applicant information is kept strictly confidential within the LMC Veteran Relief Fund Review Committee. However, general information will be collected to garner further donor support.
The Review Process
- LMC Veteran Relief Fund Review Committee requires a majority vote for fund request approval.
- All votes and approvals must be in writing (electronic methods are accepted).
- Goal of the Review Committee is to turn around requests within 24 hours of receipt. The CVSO requesting funds will be notified within 24 hours of Committee meeting as to decision or if further information is required.
- Maximum funding amount per veteran per 12-month period is $1,000, with a lifetime maximum of $2,000.
How Funds are Distributed
- The LMC Veteran Relief Fund will not make payments directly to individuals.
- Check must be made out to County requesting assistance or to service provider (ie, a dental office, roofing contractor, etc.) and delivered by the County Veterans Service Office.
- Funds will be distributed as quickly as possible upon application approval.
How to Partner with Other Organizations/Groups
- If you receive a request greater than the $1,000 maximum the LMC Veteran Relief Fund can provide, we encourage you to work with other supporting organizations like Beyond the Yellow Ribbon, Minnesota Assistance Council for Veterans, Disabled American Veterans, and local chapters of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
- The LMC Veteran Relief Fund is designed to supplement any additional monies needed after these organizations have contributed to the veteran’s needs.
